Cambridge International AS and A Level Media Studies offers you the chance to develop an understanding and appreciation of the place of media in our everyday lives.
The course enables you to take a hands-on approach to the subject. Through the coursework components – the Foundation Portfolio for AS Level and the Advanced Portfolio for A Level – you will create your own media products from planning through to execution. You will also consider and analyse examples from existing media, examining production processes and technologies and the effects they achieve. (Cambridge Assessment International Education, n.d.)
Cambridge International AS Level Media Studies requires about 180 hours of study, and Cambridge International A Level Media Studies requires about 360 hours of study. These figures are for guidance only. The number of hours needed may vary depending on your previous experience of the subject.
